Brake Repair Omaha

Brake Repair Technician AAMCO OmahaWhen your brakes near the end of their life, there are two signs they may display:

  • Visual Signs—When your brake pads wear down to less than one quarter inch in thickness, it is time to replace them. Once they wear down to below one eighth of an inch, you will soon damage your break rotor and you need to replace your pads immediately.
  • Audible Signs—Wear indicators on your brake pads will make a high-pitched noise when you brake when it's time to reline them. However, if you hear the sound of metal scraping on metal, you may have permanently damaged your brake rotors. Depending on the severity of the damage, you may need to have your rotors resurfaced or replaced entirely.

Be sure to replace your brake pads on time, otherwise you are at risk for an accident or expensive repairs.
Brake System Service
No matter whether you drive a car, a truck, or an SUV, the brakes on your vehicle are its most critical safety feature. To make sure that you stay safe and avoid expensive repair bills, have your brakes inspected annually and be sure to perform routine maintenance. At AAMCO of Omaha, our certified technicians can examine your entire brake system, including the pads/shoes, rotors/drums hydraulic fluids, calipers, wheel cylinders, hoses and lines, master cylinder, anti-locks system, and all other brake hardware.
If you hear any screeching or grinding noises when you apply the brakes, if your brake warning light stays lit, or if your brake pedal offers no resistance and sinks to the floor, you need to have your brakes inspected as soon as possible before they fail.

At AAMCO of Omaha, our brake system service includes:

  • Complete visual inspection of your vehicle's braking system
  • Replacement of worn-out pads and shoes
  • Repacking of wheel bearings when necessary
  • Lubrication for components that require it
  • Resurfacing or replacement of drums and rotors as needed
  • Replacement of other worn-components when necessary
  • Refreshing of brake fluid
  • Adjustment of the parking brake
  • Test drive to make sure that the brakes are working correctly
